Bengaluru, Dec. 20: The birth anniversary of Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan was celebrated herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Banashankari.
Students spoke about the life of Srinivasa Ramanujan. “He is known as the greatest Indian mathematician in the world. He had an uncanny ability to “remember the characteristics of numbers in an incredible way,” the students said. In 2012, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had declared December 22, the birthday of Srinivasa Ramanujan, as National Mathematics Day. The Math Week was celebrated on the date as part of Srinivasa Ramanujan’s birth anniversary. Various activities related to mathematics were organized every day. Dance, information, drama, mathematics in everyday life, simplification of mathematics, quizzes on Ramanujan were all organized as part of the Math Week. Similarly, certificates were given to students for various competitions conducted in the classroom and finally the program was concluded with a report reading and an attempt to instill an interest in mathematics in the students.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಡಿ. 20: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಬನಶಂಕರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಗಣಿತಜ್ಞರಾದ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ರಾಮಾನುಜನ್ ಜಯಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ರಾಮಾನುಜನ್ ಅವರ ಜೀವನದ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಇವರು ವಿಶ್ವದ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಗಣಿತಜ್ಞರೆಂದು ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರಿಗೆ “ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗಳ ವೈಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ನಂಬಲಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಂಥ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೆನಪಿಡುವ’ ಅಪೂರ್ವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವಿತ್ತು. 2012ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಜಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರು ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ರಾಮಾನುಜನ್ ಅವರ ಜನ್ಮದಿನವಾದ ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 22ನ್ನು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಗಣಿತ ದಿನವೆಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದ್ದರು ಎಂದೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ರಾಮಾನುಜನ್ ಅವರ ಜಯಂತಿಯ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ ಗಣಿತ ಸಪ್ತಾಹವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಗಣಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ವಿವಿಧ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ರಾಮಾನುಜನ್ ರವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನೃತ್ಯ, ಮಾಹಿತಿ, ನಾಟಕ, ನಿತ್ಯ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಣಿತ, ಗಣಿತದ ಸರಳೀಕರಣ, ರಸಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಗಣಿತ ಸಪ್ತಾಹದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾದ ವಿವಿಧ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರವನ್ನೂ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ವರದಿ ವಾಚಿಸುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗಣಿತದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಲವು ಮೂಡಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಸಂಪನ್ನಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
