Bengaluru, Aug. 12: Vikram Sarabhai Jayanti and National Library Day were celebrated at Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Banashankari.
- Students gave information about the life and achievements of Vikram Sarabhai and said that he was called the ‘Father of Indian Space Science’, founded the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) in 1947 and established the country’s first market research organisation, Operation Research Group (ORG).
Students spoke about National Library Day on the birth anniversary of Dr. Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan and said that he was called the ‘Father of Indian Library Science’ in recognition of the contributions he made to library science.
- To get the value and meaning of the book, the library is the ‘Jnanada Kanaja’, which is essential for libraries. The children said that if we want to get the meaning of this day, let us all read more and more books.
- In the first period, all the children did mass reading in the classes. The importance of Library Day was conveyed to the children.

- ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ವಿಕ್ರಂ ಸಾರಾಭಾಯಿ ಅವರ ಜೀವನ ಸಾಧನೆ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತ ‘ಭಾರತದ ಬಾಹ್ಯಾಕಾಶ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನದ ಪಿತಾಮಹ’ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಭೌತಿಕ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಪ್ರಯೋಗಾಲಯವನ್ನು (PRL)1947 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ದೇಶದ ಮೊದಲ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾದ ಆಪರೇಷನ್ ರಿಸರ್ಚ್ ಗ್ರೂಪ್ (ORG) ಅನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಡಾ. ಶಿಯಾಲಿ ರಾಮಾಮೃತ ರಂಗನಾಥನ್ ಅವರ ಜನುಮದಿನದಂದು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ದಿನದ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಕೃಷಿಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಇವರನ್ನು ‘ಭಾರತದ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನದ ಪಿತಾಮಹ’ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
- ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಮೌಲ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ಥಕ ಪಡೆಯಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳ ಅವಶ್ಯ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವನ್ನು’ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಕಣಜ’ಎನ್ನುವರು. ಈ ದಿನದ ಸಾರ್ಥಕವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬೇಕಾದರೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಓದೋಣ ಎಂದು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
- ಮೊದಲ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತರಗತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಂದ ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ಓದುಗಾರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
- ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ದಿನದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
